Hart's Original Petpourri
Robert Hart

After forty years in in academia and practice as a veterinarian, my passion is to write whenever I can.

I have had stories published in Horse and Hound, Dog World, Animal Review, Animal World, The Florida Writer, Private Pilot, Veterinary Technician, and feature articles for the Capital District Business Review, Albany, NY.

Born in London just before World War II, I was raised in Africa—educated in Tanganyika (Tanzania) and Swaziland—and went to college at Trinity College, Dublin and the Royal Veterinary College, London.

Having learned to ride as a teenager, I was fortunate to be able to race horses in flat, hurdle and steeplechase races; won both the first race in Nyasaland (Malawi) when the Turf Club was re-established following WWII, and the first Nyasaland Derby; represented British Universities in event competition in Cologne, Germany; rode in a circus; rode “work” in a show-jumping stable, and handled horses on a TV production featuring Orson Welles.  Despite this experience with horses, my clinical practice has been with small animals, mainly dogs and cats.

I am a member of

Two hard worked editors support my writing efforts, Veronica, whose recently published novel, The Prince of Keegan Bay,  can be found as an E-book on www.champagnebooks.com, and www.Amazon.com, and Oliver, who does double duty providing feline encouragement for both of us.
